Day 54: Thursday, May 28

Matthew 20:17-19

As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve aside privately and said to them on the way, “Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the experts in the law. They will condemn him to death, and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged severely and crucified. Yet on the third day, he will be raised.”

COMMENT & QUESTIONS

Once again Jesus warns the 12 apostles what was going to happen to Him. It is extraordinary to think that Jesus went to His brutal death so willingly.

Have you got challenges and hardships before you today? Are you able to go into hardships willingly? Are you able to see the difficult people and circumstances in your life and have the strength to face it?

Consider any difficult relationships that you might have in your life. Consider the temptations that you may be facing today. Remember that Jesus commands us to take up our cross daily and follow Him.

PRAYERS

Give thanks that Christ was so willing to sacrifice His life for us Pray for strength to face the hardships in our life.
