Matthew 28:4-7
The guards were shaken and became like dead men because they were so afraid of him. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised, just as he said. Come and see the place where he was lying. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead. He is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there.’ Listen, I have told you!”

COMMENT & QUESTIONS
Good news! The story doesn’t end with death. It ends with life. Jesus comes back from the dead and gives us assurance that we also will conquer death one day. With Jesus, death is not the end, but we too will be resurrected.
The angel told the women to first check the place where Jesus had been lain. Then what were they to do?
They were to come in and see it for themselves. Then they were to go and find the disciples and tell them the good news. They were then to go to Galilee and meet Him there.
Why do you think Jesus wanted to go back to Galilee?
We don't know the exact reason. But Galilee was where it had all begin. Perhaps he wanted to get away from Jerusalem where the pharisees were. Perhaps he wanted to remind His disciples of what His movement had been about as the mission moved into its next stage.
PRAYERS
Praise God that Jesus lives! We don’t follow a dead religious leader. We serve a King who has conquered over death. He has given us victory over death.
